Privacy policy
How Settld. collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy explains how Settld. handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you apply for a role through Settld., we collect the details you enter in the application form — your name, email, phone, location, current role, right-to-work status, availability, salary expectation, any note you write, and the résumé or document you choose to attach. You only provide these if you decide to apply; you are not required to create an account. For job alerts, we collect an email address, your role, location and employment-type preferences, frequency and the consent record needed to deliver the alert. For advertisers, we collect business, account, listing and billing records. We also record basic technical and listing-activity data, such as listing views, application starts and completed applications.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We collect application information for one purpose: to pass your application to the advertiser of the role you applied for so they can assess you, and to let you and that advertiser track its progress. We also use aggregate activity data — counts, not identities — to report listing performance to advertisers. We do not build a searchable résumé database, we do not publish candidate profiles, and we do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Your application, including any attached résumé, is provided to the advertiser of that specific role (and, where the advertiser is a recruitment agency, the consultant handling it). It is not shared with other advertisers. Settld. staff may access applications to provide support, investigate misuse or meet a legal obligation. We use service providers for hosting, secure file storage, email and payment processing. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by Settld.
Consent
Nothing is pre-ticked. You must actively agree before your details are sent to an advertiser, and marketing consent is a separate optional choice you can decline and still apply.
Job alerts and marketing
Job-alert consent is separate from general Real Estate Today marketing consent. We do not silently add alert subscribers or applicants to general marketing. Every alert email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also contact us.
Access, correction, deletion and complaints
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask us to delete an application you submitted, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting Settld. through the contact page. If you applied while signed in, you can delete your own application and résumé from your dashboard at any time. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Retention and security
Applications and attached documents are retained for up to 12 months from submission, or less if you ask us to delete them earlier, and are then removed. Résumés are held in private storage that is not publicly reachable and can only be opened by the advertiser of that role, or by Settld. for support, through a short-lived secure link. Access is controlled by server-side permission checks and all traffic is encrypted.
